I mean I explained this in detail to my mom and she was basically like “Well we’d appreciate it if you were better at this”.

I’d appreciate it if you were able to create teleportation portals at will to anywhere on the planet, but its not like I’m my approval of you as a person is inextricably linked to it.

REALLY NOW.

The same also applies to me explaining how I can’t remember appointments. “Well just take responsibility!” No you don’t get it, I literally can’t remember them.  This isn’t a “try harder” thing because they vanish from my short term memory randomly and then I can’t try because I don’t remember to try.

People seem to have serious issues conceptualizing this. No, dad, I really did literally completely forget about my homework every single day. Just because you didn’t when you were in school doesn’t mean it’s impossible for me. No I’m not kidding when I say planners don’t help, I either forget to write in it or forget to look at it or just forget it exists entirely (both). I’m not even IN school anymore and I occasionally still get berated about it. BRAINS ARE FUN AND SO ARE RELATIVES.

Earlier today my mom called me to remind me about an appointment, I was like “okay I’ll finish what I’m doing and come over” and by the time I finished what I was doing I’d forgotten.  This was in the span of 15 minutes, though I forgot by probably one :P

I have no idea how people think planners will work, what do they think adding three more steps to remember (to put it in the planner, to check the planner, and where you put the planner) is going to make this EASIER?

Silly neurotypicals.

!!!!!!!

So much this.
