There is a terrifying new commercial on TV
Opposing free condom availability in Rochester, by the such and such “parents union.”
It is so fucked up.
And says that condoms “can’t solve” anything BECAUSE “sex is the original problem.”
I am NOT making this up.
THAT IS AN ACTUAL QUOTE.
I want to cry.
I almost literally yelled “WHAT THE FUCK” out loud when I read this.
I mean. I was raised fundiegelical, so sentiments like this are quite familiar. It’s just surprising to see them so openly stated. Usually, they’ll at least hedge and pretend to be arguing side issues.
But then, this does seem to be the pattern lately — the less powerful arch-conservatives become, the less likely they are to pretend that they’re not really saying what they’re saying. Which I guess is kind of refreshing, in an odd way.
